Throughout our lives, there are certain moments that stand out more than others – moments and events that are ingrained in our minds forever. Graduation is one such emotionally charged, stimulating event because it celebrates a moment of great achievement that is the result of a lot of hard work and determination. It is an indicator of bigger and better things to come, and it provides the opportunity to consider new possibilities and new horizons. It’s always a good idea to celebrate by offering a gift of some sort, but what if you don’t know what kind of gift to buy? Consider some of these graduation gift ideas.
Often, when we hear the word “graduation,” we automatically think of high school. However, graduates come in all shapes and sizes. For example, both of my children had kindergarten graduations not too long ago. From the smallest preschool graduate to the largest university or technical college graduate, their accomplishment deserves to be acknowledged.
Of course, we always want to be there to share the graduation experience with our loved ones and friends. However, many times this is simply not possible. You can’t always be there physically, but you can always shop online for the perfect gift to send your friend or loved one to help them celebrate their special day. Here are the five best graduation gifts you can find online.
For example, you could send a beautiful flower bouquet, or a fresh flower arrangement.
The problem with fresh flowers, though, is that they die. And if you’re buying a gift for a guy, he might not appreciate getting flowers so much. It’s a good thing there are other gifts besides flowers. Check out this trophy full of chocolate, for instance.
Or you can opt for a healthier fruit basket.
Or a meat and cheese basket.
One thing to remember, though – especially when you’re ordering gift baskets that sometimes require extra processing and shipping time – is that you need to allow yourself plenty of time to find the perfect gift. Try to keep track of important days on a monthly calendar – or set up Google reminders, like I do. Those things are really nice because you can set them up to remind you of upcoming events weeks – and sometimes even months – ahead of time. I love that! If you have a lot going on in your life (and if you have kids like I do, I know you have a lot on your plate), you need a little help from time to time keeping track of the important occasions for which you might need to buy a gift. You wouldn’t want to not give anything, and I know your intended gift recipient wouldn’t be too thrilled.
For the younger graduate in your life, you can always send a teddy bear. It might not be the most original idea, but it’s always a good one. I ordered one for my younger daughter when she graduated from kindergarten, and she absolutely loved it!
